The MYO Future Fund is an initiative seeded from the generosity of MYO Alumni members who participated in the 1973 and 1976 Tours to Europe. This Fund aims to make a tangible difference by offering scholarships for students to participate in MYO’s various music education programs. Funds may also be set aside for touring projects.
With an initial fundraising target of $250,000, the MYO Future Fund will supplement the existing $60,000 that MYO gives out each year in Student Financial Assistance and travel allowances. This underscores MYO’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and excellence within its community.
The money raised for the MYO Future Fund is an endowment that will literally last forever. Your principal gift is invested in perpetuity, leaving it to generate scholarship opportunities that will benefit generations to come.
The MYO Future Fund is overseen by an Independent Trustee to ensure Governance and Investment security. The Australian Philanthropic Services (APS) Foundation was selected because of its high standing in the community, the existing connections with MYO spanning many years and its outstanding long term investment performance.
The Melbourne Youth Orchestras Future Fund is a giving fund of the APS Foundation (ABN 38 981 887 768). Donations into the MYO Future Fund are tax deductible. The fund pays no ongoing income tax and receives a full refund of franking credits.
