When musicians experience truly inspired music making, they are drawn to this experience and want more! This clinic presentation will draw up on recent research on the inspirational aspects of the ensemble experience to present rehearsal techniques and approaches to ensemble direction that will enhance the ensemble experience for both directors and the musicians before them.
Inspired musical experiences are undoubtedly what draws us to want to pursue music making in our lives, however it is the Holy Grail of music to encounter these moments. To experience music that makes the ‘goose bumps’ fire is often a rare and random event. It is possible to increase the odds of experiencing music that moves us, at any level of musical development. Approaches to rehearsal techniques and careful repertoire planning are just two of the areas we will explore in this clinic to enhance the musical experience for your musicians and inspire them to keep coming back for more.
