Schellhorn String Orchestra

If you are an intermediate to advanced string musician, come join the Schellhorn String Orchestra for a week of music-making and fun. Andrew Schellhorn will be conducting the orchestra, and you will have the chance to improve your technical and collaborative skills by playing with musicians your age. You will rehearse with some of Australia’s best professional tutors to prepare for a challenging but rewarding program. At the end of Summer School, this will culminate in a final performance in a concert at the beautiful Town Hall.

Following his studies at the Victorian College of the Arts, Andrew was invited to study in the class of Helfried Fister in Cologne. During this time, Andrew also performed in string ensembles throughout Europe.
Upon returning to Australia, Andrew established and developed a large individual and ensemble teaching practice where he toured with students within Australia and later to Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Czechoslovakia, Germany, France, Spain, and Portugal. Presently, Andrew is the Head of Strings at Xavier College and President of AUSTAVic.
