The Flagship Melbourne Youth Orchestra is recognised as one of Australia’s leading youth orchestras, with many of our members advancing to professional careers. In Melbourne Youth Orchestra you’ll join Victoria’s brightest young musicians, work with highly respected conductors and educators, and delve into advanced orchestral repertoire.

FLAGSHIP MELBOURNE YOUTH ORCHESTRA
Approximate standard: AMEB Certificate of Performance+
Approximate age range: 15 – 25
Rehearsals: Saturday 1:30pm – 5:00pm
Instruments: flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, french horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion, timpani, piano/celeste, harp, violin, viola, cello, double bass*

Special projects for the Flagship Melbourne Youth Orchestra may include:
– Performances at a Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Sidney Myer Music Bowl Free Concert
– Side-by-side performances with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne
– Performance at Vision Australia Carols by Candlelight (strings)
– Regional tours and recording projects
