MYO’s 2024 Summer School Residential Camp will be held from 7 – 13 January.

Spend your summer in the city! We’re inviting talented students aged 12 to 17 from regional Victoria and interstate to attend a residential camp while taking part in MYO’s 2023 Summer School. Bring your instrument and join fellow young musicians for a fun week of music-making in the heart of Melbourne.

While attending Summer School, you will stay with a group of like minded young musicians from across the state for the entire week, taking part in social and musical activities each evening including sightseeing, tours and talent nights.

Summer School Residential Camp fees include 6 nights’ accommodation, all meals, transport within Melbourne, sightseeing and other activities. The camp is fully supervised by qualified camp leaders and hosted in dormitory-style accommodation at Urban Camp in Melbourne’s Royal Park.

Accommodation venue: Urban Camp Melbourne, Brens Drive, Parkville

Entry to our Summer School Residential Camp is by application only, ages 12 to 17 as of 1 January 2024. No audition is required – please see our answers to Summer School Residential Camp frequently asked questions for further information.

Applicants will be allocated to a Summer School ensemble based on their preferences and ensemble experience provided at the time of application. Please see the 2023 Summer School information pages regarding ensembles on offer and other general advice.

Applicants for the Summer School Residential Camp will need to provide brief answers to the following questions in their application:

– What kinds of musical opportunities are available in your area and which of these have you been involved with in the past three years?

– How will attending the Summer School Residential Camp benefit you?

The 2024 Summer School Residential Camp is proudly supported by the Newsboys Foundation.
