Directed by Rachael Beesley and Nicole van Bruggen from the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra (ARCO), the Young Mannheim Symphonists program will enable participants to work with and learn from some of Australia’s most respected musicians in historically informed performance practice.

Designed to give students the unique opportunity to delve into the Mannheim, Classical and Romantic performance styles, participants will explore both the theoretical and practical aspects of performing composers such as Beethoven and Eberl.

Repertoire to include:

EBERL Symphony No.1 in E-flat Major, Op.33
BEETHOVEN Symphony No.1 in C Major Op.21


AGE 15 years +
INSTRUMENTS Violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, timpani

Applicants for Young Mannheim Symphonists will need to provide information on any background in Historically Informed Performance and what they hope to get out of their participation in the program.
