HOW WILL I KNOW IF MY PIECE IS SUITABLE FOR PERCY GRAINGER YOUTH ORCHESTRA?
Percy Grainger Youth Orchestra has an approximate AMEB Grade 6+ standard. The approximate age range is 14 to 20 and follows standard orchestral instrumentation (double winds) including: Flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion, timpani, violin, viola, cello, double bass. It is a good idea to consider the piece’s instrumentation as well as level when choosing your piece.
If you’re not sure if your work is appropriate, you can consult with your instrumental teacher, or call the MYO office on 03 9376 8988.
WHAT WILL BE REQUIRED FOR MY APPLICATION?
The application form will consist of a series of questions determining your instrument, AMEB level (or equivalent), the piece you wish to perform, your performance and musical experience, your instrumental teacher’s details and what you hope to get out of participating in Virtuosity.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO APPLY?
A $65 application fee is required upon submission of the online application form. Please note that your application will not be reviewed without this payment. The application fee will be payable through our online payment system. Details will be supplied upon completion of the application form. Payments can also be made by credit card (Visa and Mastercard only), cheque or direct deposit (EFT).
