Virtuosity is a concerto soloist competition offering young musicians mentorship, professional development and performance experience.
As the premiere concerto competition for Victoria’s best and brightest emerging musicians, Virtuosity offers future soloists invaluable performance opportunities, professional development experience, mentorship and career support in addition to cash prizes and the presentation of the coveted Virtuosity Perpetual Trophy.
Now in its fourth year, Virtuosity is a four-stage concert soloist development program in a competitive setting. The opportunity to perform as soloist with a symphony orchestra allows a musician greater insight into the music and enhances their understanding of the work and their own performance. Virtuosity participants will learn the artistic differences and challenges of concerto playing accompanied by a symphony orchestra, as well as the skills and tools of the music industry beyond the performance.
Virtuosity is the ideal springboard into professional concerto performance, participation in competitions and the development of advanced musicianship skills – both on and off stage.
Virtuosity spans four stages: an online application, a live audition round, the Semi-Final performance and the Grand Final.
Applications close at 5:00pm on Friday 1 December.
