String Orchestra

Conductor Hamish Paterson joins our 2018 Summer School with a program designed to extend intermediate string players. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to spend a week playing repertoire that will focus on string technique, tone and ensemble skills, while improving each participant’s use of dynamics and expression.

PROGRAM FEE $550
INSTRUMENTS Violin, viola, cello, double bass.


NOTE: AMEB levels indicated are not a formal requirement, but are provided as a guide to the skills required.

 

HAMISH PATERSON 
String Orchestra Conductor


Hamish works in music education, teaching violin and viola, and conducting ensembles at Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak and Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School. He worked for Melbourne Youth Orchestras as tutor, manager and conductor from 2003 – 2014. Hamish has also been Victorian President and Secretary of the Australian Strings Association. He has been Music Director for a number of amateur and school musicals in Melbourne. Hamish has also adjudicated at a number of competitions including Royal South Street in Ballarat and the VSMF.
