Piano Masterclass with Bernadette Harvey

In 2017 Melbourne Youth Orchestras has partnered with the Australian World Orchestra (AWO) to present our Masterclass Series. The series will comprise of four Masterclasses, each led by an AWO artist and focusing on different instruments and rehearsal techniques.

The fourth Masterclass of the 2017 series will focus on Piano, to be presented by Bernadette Harvey, Lecturer in Piano and Piano Pedagogy at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. During the Masterclass, Bernadette will guide four students through key aspects of instrumental performance in front of a live audience – both in person and online. Both live and online audiences will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with Bernadette on any aspects of piano performance.

The Masterclass is an opportunity to gain a new perspective and a greater understanding of high quality performance and would perfectly complement a student’s preparation for VCE, AMEB and tertiary recitals.

Date: Sunday 8 October 2017, 11:00am – 1:00pm

Venue: Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, Music Building, Southbank Campus, The University of Melbourne 234 St Kilda Road Southbank VIC 3006
