This new band will provide an ensemble opportunity for beginner-level wind, brass and percussion players in a nurturing, creative environment. Junior Concert Band will foster a love of music and ensemble playing in its members through performing with peers while improving instrumental technique.
Rehearsing on Saturday mornings, this ensemble will consist of primary and young secondary wind, brass and percussion players. If you’ve been playing for around one year and are looking for a great ensemble playing experience, this is the band for you.
JUNIOR CONCERT BAND
Approximate standard: Beginner to AMEB Grade 2 or equivalent (learning for one year)
Approximate age range: 8 – 14
Rehearsals: Saturdays 9:30am-12:00pm

ERIN ELLENBURG – Conductor
Erin Ellenburg is a music educator and trumpet player hailing from the United States. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance, both from Appalachian State University, and a Master of Music in Performance Teaching from the University of Melbourne. Erin plays with the world-famous Footscray Yarraville City Band, and is the musical director for up-and-coming Western Brass. She teaches trumpet and directs bands at Melbourne schools, and enjoys helping young students develop their love and knowledge of music.
