Carnival of the Animals

Be enchanted by the MYO Chamber Orchestra, with conductor Brett Kelly and invited alumni guests, as they perform Saint-Saens’ whimsical musical suite Carnival of the Animals as a part of Melbourne Recital Centre’s 2017 MusicPlay Children’s Festival


Melbourne Youth Orchestra Birthday Concert

Melbourne Youth Orchestra celebrates our 50th birthday with the world premiere of a newly commissioned work by Graeme Koehne, and alumnus Josh Rogan performing Lovelock’s dazzling Trumpet Concerto.


MYO Moments of Beauty at the State Library of Victoria

State Library of Victoria

We’re teaming up with the State Library of Victoria during Spring 2017 to present a series of surprise performances by our ensembles throughout the library’s elegant spaces. To culminate, Melbourne Youth Orchestra will bring music to the streets with a program of symphonic works on the library’s grand Swanston St Forecourt.

Melbourne Youth Orchestras Gala Concert 

Sunday 12 November
Melbourne Town Hall

450 young musicians in two symphony orchestras, three concert bands and four string orchestras with nine conductors come together in the Melbourne Town Hall for one special concert.


Masterclasses with the Australian World Orchestra

In our 2017 masterclass series, musicians of the Australian World Orchestra will share their expertise and passion with young Victorian instrumentalists. The series launches with Lyndon Watts, former principal bassoonist of the Munich Philharmonic, on 26 February and will continue throughout the year.
