2019 Summer School: 7 – 12 January

Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, Southbank Campus

Do something you love this summer! Bring your instrument and join more than 600 of your fellow musicians for a fun week of rehearsals, workshops and performances.

Our 2019 Summer School combines high standard music-making, creativity, exploration and personal development.

Work with some of Victoria’s best conductors and tutors to discover a stimulating range of musical and social activities in a fun and collaborative atmosphere. Summer School isn’t just about developing your technique and expanding your repertoire knowledge. It’s about opening your mind to a whole different sphere of music-making and creating new and exciting musical experiences.

There are daily opportunities to extend yourself through workshops and group activities to advance your performance skills in our informal lunchtime concerts. Summer School culminates with ensemble showcases and concerts at the Iwaki Auditorium, ABC Southbank Centre, and Melbourne Recital Centre, highlighting the week’s achievements.

Things could get silly this year when classical parody duo TwoSet Violin join us for a day of comic relief for the MYO Summer School TwoSet Takeover.

If you’re a regional Victorian student aged 12-17 years you can even stay the whole week at our Summer School Residential Camp.

Start 2019 with a fun week of music-making and be inspired for the year ahead!
